Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 August 2026 · Applies to all users of Markena worldwide.
This policy explains what Markena stores in your browser, why, and how to control it. Read it alongside the Privacy Policy.
S H H P M services co LLC, a limited liability company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates under professional trade licence number 1183314, with its registered office at Office 43–44, Bin Darwish Building, Deira, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We trade as Markena. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean S H H P M services co LLC.
This policy is general information about Markena's service and is not legal advice. Mandatory rights under applicable law are not limited by it.
1. Our position on tracking
Markena is deliberately light on tracking. We use no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no third-party analytics pixels and no social media tracking. Everything below exists because the product cannot work without it, or because your account would be less secure without it.
That is also why you do not see a consent banner: under regulation 6(4) of PECR, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has requested does not require consent. If we ever add analytics or advertising technology, we will add a compliant consent mechanism at the same time and update this page.
2. What we store
| Name / purpose | Type | Lifetime | Why it exists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session token | Browser sessionStorage | Until the browser session ends | Keeps you signed in. Without it you cannot use your account. Strictly necessary. |
| Device identifier | Browser localStorage | Until cleared | A random value used to detect trial abuse and unusual sign-ins. Strictly necessary for security. |
| Workspace cache | Browser localStorage | Until cleared or you sign out | Keeps your workspace responsive between page loads. Secrets and API keys are stripped before anything is written here. |
| Language and interface preferences | Browser localStorage | Until cleared | So the site loads in your language without a flash of the wrong one. |
| aimd_google_state | HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax cookie | 10 minutes | Prevents cross-site request forgery during Google sign-in. Set only when you start that flow. |
| Stripe fraud-prevention cookies | Third-party cookies, set on Stripe's own checkout pages | Set by Stripe | Payment fraud prevention. Governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. |
The website chatbot widget, where a customer has installed it on their own site, stores a random visitor identifier so a returning visitor's conversation continues rather than restarting. It carries no personal data in itself and is strictly necessary for the chat to function.
3. What we do not store
- No advertising or retargeting identifiers.
- No cross-site or cross-device tracking.
- No third-party analytics on the marketing site.
- No fingerprinting beyond the hashed device identifier described above, which exists solely for fraud prevention and is not used to build a profile of you.
4. Third-party content
Two third parties can set storage in the context of our pages:
- Google Fonts — we load web fonts from Google's font service. This means your IP address is visible to Google when the font is fetched. No cookie is set by the font service.
- Google reCAPTCHA — where the platform owner has enabled it, reCAPTCHA runs on the signup form and sets its own cookies for abuse detection, governed by Google's privacy policy.
5. Controlling storage
You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings, and most browsers let you block them per site. Doing so signs you out and clears your local workspace cache; it does not delete your account or any data held on our servers.
Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop the Service working. That is not something we can design around — a session token is how the browser proves who you are.
Browser-specific instructions: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.
6. Do Not Track
We do not track you across sites, so a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal changes nothing about what we do. We honour it by default because there is nothing to switch off.
7. Changes
If we add any storage that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page and introduce a consent mechanism before that storage is used. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
